11-18-2009 Remixed: Count Your Blessings

It’s easy to get caught up in everything. All of the problems. All of the struggles. And all too easy to forget to count our blessings. We have been blessed beyond belief, but sometimes we have to get outside of ourselves to really see it. Sometimes just from a different perspective. What if you tried asking yourself some simple questions like:

What would a blind person give to see a loved ones face like their mother or father?
What would a homeless person give to have shelter?
What would a hungry person give for something to eat?
What would someone who can’t taste give for the joys of eating a hot apple pie?

Tonight we took a look at the world through the eyes of a person who has recieved great blessings from God.

I’d like to encourage you over the next few weeks through Thanksgiving to take some time to reflect on that and give God thanks and praise for His mighty works for everything that He has blessed us with, instead of spending time reflecting on things that you don’t have or wish you could have. Our attitudes will be better when we remember to count our blessings

Reflection: Psalm 100:3-5 (NIV)

Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

What do you learn about who God is through this passage?

Take some time now and think about at least 10 blessings in your life.

Student HELPERS 101!

Student HELPERS 101 November 8, 2009

Students will have the opportunity to attend Student HELPERS 101 on Sunday, November 8^th at the Crossing from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Student HELPERS 101 is a basic introduction to our church family. Student HELPERS is divided into three parts, our salvation, our statements and our structure.

Houston Baptist University’s Refuge Band will be @ Remixed on November 11^th. Make sure you clear your schedule for Remixed on the 11^th from 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. @ the Crossing.

Thanks to all that purchased and sold the beautiful, live Christmas Wreaths in support of the Student Ministries here at KCF. Congratulations to Brady Hill who had the top dollar sales and the most items sold.

Water Day 2009 @ REMIXED September 16th!

Water Day @ REMIXED on September 16th @ the Crossing from 6:45 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Foam pit, water slide and fun. Wear something modest to get soaked in, bring a towel and get ready to have a good time with friends.

School is in full swing!

School is in full swing and it is a great time to get involved in student ministry. I want to encourage you to attend and to bring your friends to Sunday mornings, Remixed on Wednesday night at the Crossing from 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or to any student ministry event here at KCF.

Our Junior High Mission trip was on August 7^th in Galveston. Thank you Delaine Evans, Tammy Flores, Jason Hill, Mundo and Elda Suarez and Josh Esquivel for your service in making this a great mission experience and thank you to all the students that participated.

September 23^rd is “See You at the Pole”, www.syatp.com, and I encourage you to take part in prayer at your school in the morning around your flagpole with other believers.

I know it is early but Wreath sales will begin September 2^nd and will continue through October 14^th. This is our Student Ministry fund raiser and we want and appreciate your support.

“Rock the River” camp at the 7-A Ranch Resort in Wimberley, TX happened from July 27^th through July 31^st. Thank you Delaine Evans, Elda Suarez, Leb Kemp, Travis Burrow, Pastor Chris Jones, Joanna Jones, Kristin Elliott, Tara Barker and Sarah Fethke for all of your service in making camp a great experience and thank you to the students that participated.
