Day 3: October 15, 2010

Acts 16:25-26 (KJV) “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken:  and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

Do you realize that in spite of imprisonment, Paul and Silas praised God?  In the midst of pain and persecution, they praised so loudly that the other prisoners heard them.

What a witness!  Are we praising God in the midst of trials knowing God is in control and that He hears our prayers and praise?  Are we expecting a “suddenly”?

This reminds us of the earthquake that happened at Calvary (see Matthew 27:51-53).  Because of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice, our chains were loosed and we were set free.  Have we received what Our Savior did that day and, are we walking out of our spiritual captivity like Paul and Silas walked out of their physical captivity?  So, in the midst of our trials, let’s praise and thank God knowing there is a way out and HE IS THE WAY!

One Response to Day 3: October 15, 2010

  1. Dee says:

Your remembrance to bring forth the way to be more like those in the Bible, always singing and always learning as well as more encourageable, maybe there would be more people that would want to join us if we lived our lives as we read about how we should live our lives rather than only on Sunday, Thanks
