Romans 8:31-39 (The Message) “So what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us- who was raised to life for us!- is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no Way! No trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:
They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convince that nothing-nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable- absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us”.
It is just so amazing to me how incredible our God and His love for us is. We can’t even wrap our minds around how great He is and how much He loves us. There really is no one like Him. But still, even though we know how incredible and amazing and wonderful our God is, why is it that we sometimes lose hope in Him? Why do we doubt God at times? Why is it so hard to find that peace in Him, even though we know that He is for us, never against, and that He is there always?
I really love Romans 8:31-39. (See scripture above) It tells us that we need to remember that with God on our side nothing can stand between us. Nothing. And I think that is completely amazing to have the God of the universe, the Maker of everything, the Beginning and End, on our side because He loves us. Now I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel anything is possible, and I have peace knowing God is on our side.
There is a song by Chris Tomlin where the bridge says “If our God is for us then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us then what could stand against?” Wow! That’s so powerful and its something we tend to forget, that God is always for us and not against us, and that with Him…“nothing living or dead, Angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable-absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us” (Romans 8:39).
