Ezekiel 36:26-27 (NIV) “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”
Change me from the man that I am into the man that you intend for me to be.
Walk with me, oh God, as with Adam. Speak to me, oh God, as to Abraham. Grant to me, oh God, your friendship as with Moses. Strengthen me as Joshua. Discipline me as Joseph. Give to me a heart like David. Impart to me the vision of Isaiah and the wisdom of Daniel. Anoint me, oh God, like that of Elisha. Help me, oh God, to have a burden for the lost like John the Baptist. Choose me, oh God, like one of your disciples. Give to me the favor of John, the child-like faith of Peter, the compassion of James, the drive and determination of Paul. Make me to be a man that is quick to forgive and slow to anger. Encourage me, oh God, to be a man of the Word and a man of prayer. Allow me, oh God, to hunger and thirst after righteousness all the days of my life. And in so doing, change me oh God!
Make me as you are. Make me like Jesus.
