Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
It’s all about the journey. That could be an understatement when we consider our lives before we accepted Christ as LORD and Savior of our lives. In my mind, that is where and when my life really started. For over sixty-seven years the LORD has had me on a journey that He designed just for me, actually before I was ever born. WOW! He has known me a very long time. He knew my struggles, my joys, and all that life had in store for me because he designed the BIG PLAN. That plan, of course, includes all of us. It is His desire that that all of us would be saved.
I can tell you that His plan wasn’t always my plan. In all of my humanness, more times than not I was headed down my own path on my own trail. You know, God has a way of gently turning us around, or not-so-gently blasting us out of our own plan back into His plan where He wants us to be. Hopefully after sixty-seven years of life I have learned to listen as best I can to His voice. He has impressed upon me just how fragile life is and not to take the smallest moment for granted.
My journey, HIS plan, has brought me to this point: EVERY DAY IS A GIFT. No matter what the day brings, it is a GIFT. As human beings we all too often murmur and complain when we don’t think things are going as planned. Whose plan? If it’s not God’s plan it really doesn’t matter. We are not promised tomorrow. May we embrace today as if it were our last. May we use the day to serve our LORD with all of our heart and give Him our very best. Wring it out, squeeze all of the goodness out of this day as we possibly can.
If we live today, as the song says, like we are dying, our priorities will change forever. Mine certainly have.
